Your Voice Matters!

We value your input.
Together we build a legacy

The significance of research within Black British art and literature cannot be overstated. At the Black Art Hub, we are currently engaged in a vital exploration focused on intersectionality through visual art and poetry, delving into the nuanced layers of Black British art and its intersection with artificial intelligence (AI). Our research extends to the examination of biases within AI.

We also seek to understand how AI is supporting black-led Art and Poetry community organisations with day-to-day management.

This endeavour is not just an academic pursuit; it's a collective effort to unravel the rich tapestry of experiences, perspectives, and narratives that define Black British identity in the artistic landscape. We recognise the need for diverse voices and contributions, understanding that a comprehensive understanding of Black British art requires the active participation of artists, thinkers, and creators. Therefore, we extend an invitation to all those passionate about these intersections to join us on this research journey. Your insights, experiences, and contributions are invaluable in shaping a more inclusive and nuanced narrative within the realm of Black British art and literature. Together, we aim to foster a space that not only highlights the importance of these intersections but actively works towards their celebration and recognition in the broader artistic discourse.
UK RESEARCH CALL OUT  for British Art Institutes 2024

The Black Art Hub invites British art galleries, institutions, and museums to participate in our research program for 2025/26. This is a great opportunity to participate in discussions about Black Aesthetics and Intersectionality within British arts, looking at the present and the future from organisations about initiatives that foster inclusion and collaboration with grassroots Black British artists and poets.

The research methodology will involve questionnaires, forums, and FAQ sessions. This call to action aims to gain firsthand insights into how Black British diversity and intersectionality are prioritised in British arts, contributing to cultural authenticity and increased visibility for the upcoming generation of Black British Artists. For further details, please reach out via email to theblackarthub@gmail.com by 6th January 2025.

Seeking artists and poets to be featured in the inaugural UK Voluntary Black British Art Directory! We intend to publish this directory online in Winter 2025 and provide a PDF version for the UK art community, global organizations, art galleries, and museums interested in collaborations, commissions, networking, and partnerships with Black British visual artists and poets. The advantages of being part of this directory include:

  1. Creating an archival document of contemporary Black British artists and poets within the UK, showcasing diverse art forms, and identifying creatives geographically, enables us to empower ourselves

  2. A pathway for art institutes to connect with Black British artists and poets, fostering inclusion, authenticity, accessibility, diversity, and visibility in future projects, celebrating the Black British perspectives on Art, culture, and heritage.

  3. Supporting each other as grassroots contemporary Black British artists and poets. Listing our unique art forms, relevant skills, short bios, social media platforms, websites, email addresses, and links to current works. This encourages collaboration and boosts independent mixed-media projects among Black British artists. This directory welcomes listings from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and the UK Islands and Isles. There is no fee for listings. To express your interest, please email theblackarthub@gmail.com by 1st February 2025
